Stress Management, Confidence Boost, Tension
Stress is a widespread and costly problem in today's society and in the workplace. There can be a lot of contributing factors as well as a lot of different symptoms and signs that can indicate if someone is under stress, whether it be in the workplace or in the home environment. About one-third of workers report high levels of stress at work, one-quarter of employees view their jobs as the number one stressor in their lives. There is no need to live your life this way or if you are an employer let your employees live their lives this way. Three-quarters of employees believe the worker has more job stress than a generation ago. It has also been proven that stress is the major cause of staff turnover in organizations.
Other Health and Safety issues can arise in the workplace, if your workplace is not correctly set up for you to work in, this can result in repetitive strain injuries, and for people working at desks. It is widely believed that job stress can increase the risk of back and upper extremity musculoskeletal disorders developing. It is your employer’s responsibility to provide work station assessments for their employees, this is a requirement by law and must be carried out by someone trained or dedicated to carry out this assessment, this is to make sure it complies with current guidelines.
Physical signs and symptoms that can develop due to stress.
Research shows that there are four Main physiological reactions to stress:
1. Blood is shunted to the brain and large muscle groups, and away from extremities, skin, and organs that are not currently serving the body.
2. An area near the brain stem, known as the reticular activating system, goes to work, causing a state of keen alertness as well as sharpening of hearing and vision.
3. Energy-providing compounds of glucose and fatty acids are released into the bloodstream.
4. The immune and digestive systems are temporarily shut down.
These physiological reactions to stress are what cause people to fall ill and then not show for work, and if the symptoms persist they can end up on long term sick from work.
There are physical signs, to look out for such as:
Stooped Posture
Clenched Fists
Furrowed Brow
Clenched Jaw
Hunched Shoulders
Persistent Tiredness
And these can cause physical symptoms such as:
Dry Mouth

Work life balance
Burnout is a psychological term for the experience of long-term exhaustion and diminished interest.
What can be done for you?
Firstly establishing the stressing factor in your life, this is what you need to deal with, but sometimes it is not always what you think it is! Yes your boss may be getting on your back at work talking deadlines and meeting targets, but is that the real stressor? Or is it that you cannot concentrate and therefore you are not up to your normal speed! Or perhaps you are the boss and things are not going according to plan, as sometimes they don't. I am not going to list here all the possible scenarios of work life or indeed go in to permutations of personal life.
Using Hypnotherapy you can allow your subconscious to do the work for you, so you can then carry on your life with a calm and settled mind. Stress is normally caused by an overwhelming load on your mind or your brain not being able to process the information that it has been given.
Using Hypnotherapy I can help your subconscious mind provide you with the information that you need to allow you to lead a calmer and more focused life, giving you the confidence to carry on knowing that you can cope with any challenges ahead. |
